Sales executives 'should be patient in job searches'
Sales executives looking for new employment should be patient in their job searches, it has been claimed.
According to research carried out by the Korn/Ferry Institute, 83 per cent of top-level management believe they will be hunting for more than four months for their next opportunity, while 43 per cent believe the process will take seven months or longer.
Cheryl Buxton, global managing director of client services for the organisation, commented: "We counsel both our clients and candidates to be patient in the search process and the current economic environment only reinforces that need."
She went on to say that lengthy job searches are not confined to poor economies and it takes time to find the right cultural and functional fit for each position and each candidate.
Last week, recruiter Heritage Partners International claimed there has never been a greater depth of talent among executives seeking employment in the pharmaceutical sales industry.
